Product Description

This card depicts Parliamentary artillery fire during the re-enactment of the Battle of Alton (1643).

The Royalist infantry were forced to flee to the Church of St Lawrence, where they made their last stand for 2 hours before they were forced to surrender.

It’s believed that the church still has musket holes in the south door and inside.
